This ocean going salvage tug was intended for a Dutch towing operator. A complete (preliminary) design was made, including an extensive specification and a feasibility study. The vessel comes in two versions, a ocean tug or an emergency towing vessel. The bollard pull is no less than 180 tons. Besides towing, the vessel is also equipped for anchor handling. The propulsion consists of four diesel engines on two shafts driving controllable pitch propellers in nozzles, for optimum propulsion during towing and free sailing. The ETV (emergency towing vessel) is equipped with two diesel engines and shafts and has a lesser bollard pull.
